Classroom Behavior Clips
To help us keep track of our behavior we use a CLIP CHART in our classroom. This system serves as a visual reminder to students that their behavior has gone off track and that they need to rethink and get back on track. Everyday all students start on a 3-Meeting Expectations. If a student is consistently following directions and on task they may be asked to clip up to a 4-Role Model. If a student is struggling with following our classroom rules they may clip down to a 2-Think About It. Students will be given a warning and often asked if they know why they are clipping down before doing it on the chart. As the day continues, if a child is able to rethink and get their behavior back on track they will be told they can clip back up to the previous number on the chart. Students who end the day on a 3 or 4 receive a sticker. Once they have earned 15 stickers they get some kind of prize. If a student continues with behavior that isn't following expectations they will be asked to clip down to 1-Safe Seat. The time spent at the safe seat varies depending on what the student is struggling with. If problems occur in the safe seat the student will be sent to work in a buddy room. This system is a way to keep students mindful of their behavior and rethink if needed to be successful in the classroom.
